When you turn the corner

And you run into yourself

Then you know that you have turned

All the corners that are left.

Final Curve — Langston Hughes

Do you want to process events, find balance, face challenges, or instigate change?

Explore what's going on for you in a private and tranquil space. Together, we will work to understand your situation, facilitating positive change or simply finding acceptance.

I follow a traditional talk therapy model, where sessions are structured like a conversation — you lead where the discussion goes, while I offer interpretations, insights and perspectives to help you:

  • Connect events from the past to the present

  • Look at things from a different perspective, and

  • Address the parts of your life where you feel stuck or overwhelmed.

Trust and confidentiality

To facilitate you expressing yourself without fear of judgment or consequence, I follow the BACP’s ethical guidelines. I prioritise client confidentiality by providing a space where you can talk openly and honestly.

A successful therapeutic relationship is built on trust. To that end, I bring empathy, active listening and a genuine commitment to understanding your perspective, creating an environment where you feel understood and accepted.

The work of therapy

Therapy starts by discussing where you are now and where you would like to be. We also discuss your expectations of therapy. Then, week by week in 50 minute sessions, we explore the experiences and relationships that have shaped you, and consider how they might be impacting you now. This is the therapeutic process that facilitates your growth and development.

My approach

I work psychodynamically, an approach that helps people understand how the past affects the present. I have particular experience with:

  • Grief and loss

  • Identity (including gender and sexuality, neurodiversity, values and beliefs, culture, ability and disability)

  • Relationships (including relationship to self, family, non-monogamy, polyamory and kink)

  • Anxiety, stress, depression and depressive episodes

  • The decision to have – or not have – a family including infertility, assisted fertility, adoption and surrogacy

  • Processing or considering an autism / ADHD diagnosis

  • Trauma and adverse early life experiences
